Kitten Adoption Process
Washta Bay does not have a traditional "wait list" where future families place a deposit down and will wait for many months, possibly a year for kittens.  So, what do you do?

FIRST STEP:  Join the Kitten Notification Group
Contact us to be placed on our kitten notification listing.  All members of the group will receive new kitten announcements and know when reservations are open prior to information being posted on our site or blog.  There is no fee for this service.

Note that this is only a group to receive first notification for kittens, you do not have a kitten reserved until you have been approved for kitten placement and a deposit has been received by Washta Bay.

SECOND STEP:  Family Matching
If a Washta Bay kitten looks like it could be a match for you, let us know about yourself, what you are looking for in a kitten, your home environment, and any other items you think would be of interest to us.  The more information we have, the better we can match our kittens with the best families.  This is especially important if you are not local and will not be able to visit us in person.  We place a lot of time and effort into proper care and raising of our kittens and want to make sure that they all have good forever homes.

THIRD STEP:  Reserve your Kitten
Once you are approved for a Washta Bay kitten, the remaining step is to reserve your new baby. To do so, we require a $200 non-refundable deposit.  This will be applied towards the cost of your kitten.

Washta Bay reserves the right for first pick of the litter.  The remaining kittens will be chosen based on a variety of factors to find the best fit for all of the kittens and their new families.

The full cost of the kitten (plus any additional fees, such as delivery or shipping charges if you are not local) is due 2 weeks prior to the date of the family transfer.
